Introduction: Hemorrhoidal disease is defined by the displacement or symptomatic inflammation of the vascular cushions of the anal canal, representing a clinical situation of extreme relevance in the gastroenterological and proctological scenario. Objective: To describe the profile of individuals hospitalized for hemorrhoids in Brazil, correlating it with the effects of physiotherapy on fecal incontinence. Methods: This is a retrospective and quantitative approach; the data source used will be linked to DATASUS, through the SUS hospital morbidity data, adopting inclusion and exclusion criteria, and subsequently tabulating the data. Results: In 5 years, Brazil registered 164,520 cases of hospitalizations for hemorrhoids, predominantly in the Southeast region, age group 40 to 49 years, brown skin color, female sex, of an elective nature. The increase in reported cases, especially in later years, suggests that hemorrhoidal disease is a relevant condition in the Brazilian public health landscape, being related to an increase in predisposing factors in the population, including sedentary lifestyle, obesity, constipation, and a diet low in fiber. Conclusion: It is vital to emphasize the relevance of physiotherapy as a fundamental component in the therapeutic approach, contributing to the rehabilitation of the pelvic floor, improving sphincter control, reducing straining during bowel movements, and promoting health education.
