ANÁLISIS DEL RESULTADO DEL TRATAMIENTO FISIOTERAPÉUTICO EN LA PRESCRIPCIÓN DE OPIOIDES EN PACIENTES CON DOLOR LUMBAR: UNA REVISIÓN SISTEMÁTICA DE ESTUDIOS DE COHORTE RETROSPECTIVA

El dolor lumbar (lumbalgia) es una limitación funcional y la principal causa de discapacidad en varios países del mundo. Al tratarse de un problema global que afecta directamente a la calidad de vida de las personas, se han estudiado varias formas de tratamiento, entre ellas la fisioterapia y los analgésicos opioides. Objetivo: Revisar sistemáticamente la literatura de los últimos diez años en un intento de analizar posibles resultados con respecto al uso de fisioterapia, prescripción de opioides y el uso de costos de atención médica en pacientes con dolor lumbar. Metodología: Se trata de una revisión sistemática de estudios observacionales para analizar resultados a través de una encuesta bibliográfica virtual de artículos científicos publicados en revistas digitales entre los años 2012 y 2022, en las bases de datos PubMed, BVS, SciELO y PEDro. Resultados: Para las personas con dolor lumbar, todos los estudios informaron que el manejo temprano de la fisioterapia se asoció con una disminución en el alivio del dolor y la prescripción de opioides. Conclusión: La fisioterapia es una alternativa segura y eficaz para el tratamiento del dolor e involucrarla tempranamente en la atención de los pacientes con dolor lumbar puede mejorar la calidad de vida y reducir el uso de servicios y costos de salud.
