Introduction: Multiple sclerosis is an autoimmune condition that affects the central nervous system, generating motor, cognitive, and visual manifestations that alter functionality. Among the symptoms is fatigue, an abnormal feeling of tiredness, which alters the ability to maintain activities. Objective: This study described how fatigue influences the quality of life of people with MS based on their perceptions and experiences. Methods: A cross-sectional, descriptive, and exploratory observational study with a qualitative approach was used, conducted through semi-structured interviews with a sample of 10 patients treated at a Multiple Sclerosis Reference Center over two months. The data were analyzed using thematic analysis. The research observed the norms of Resolution No. 466/12 of the National Health Council, Resolution No. 423/13 of the Professional Code of Ethics for Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy, and Resolution No. 510/16 of the National Health Council. Data collection began after approval by the Research Ethics Committee of Faculdade Nova Esperança. Results: Personal subjectivity permeates the perception of the symptom, although there is convergence regarding its mental aspect, with a prominent social impact that reverberates in the occupational context. Adequate guidance from health professionals regarding symptom management was observed; however, there is low adherence by individuals with MS to the implementation of these guidelines in daily life. Conclusion: There is personal subjectivity regarding the perception of fatigue, with unanimity regarding its relevant social impact and greater repercussions in the workplace. It was possible to verify the impact of fatigue on the decline in the quality of life of people with Multiple Sclerosis.
