Abstract

Introduction: Pressure injuries, also known as pressure ulcers, are areas of skin and tissue damage caused by prolonged pressure on a specific area of the body, often occurring in individuals with reduced mobility. People with pressure injuries at home require continuous and specific care to prevent further complications and promote healing. Objective: The objective is to identify educational health diagnoses for individuals with pressure injuries at home, served by the "Melhor em Casa Program”. Methods: This article describes design-based research conducted in Dourados, Mato Grosso do Sul, in November 2023. The study included twenty-two subjects, 10 women and 12 men, with an average age of 72.2 years. Content analysis was conducted using the framework of Maria Helena Salgado Bagnato. Results: Two main educational diagnoses were identified: providing clear information on the prevention and treatment of pressure injuries and developing strategies for the proper management of health conditions that contribute to the appearance of these injuries. Conclusion: Based on these diagnoses, health education actions should focus on planning alternatives for understanding the treatment and prevention process of these injuries, as well as promoting means for patients to better adapt to the limitations imposed by the injuries, becoming active agents in their care and health education process.
