Abstract

Introduction: Admission to an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) can lead to lasting physical, cognitive, nutritional, emotional, and functional consequences, collectively known as Post-Intensive Care Syndrome (PICS). Post-discharge rehabilitation is a multidisciplinary process essential for functional recovery; in Rondônia, it is organized through the Care Network for People with Disabilities via Specialized Rehabilitation Centers. Given the scarcity of educational materials regarding this network in the state, the aim was to report the experience of developing and distributing an educational booklet on post-ICU rehabilitation, tailored to the rehabilitation services available in Rondônia. Methods: This is an experience report conducted in Porto Velho, Rondônia, between April and August 2025, comprising two stages: development of the booklet based on a review of official documents (Ministry of Health ordinances and the 2024–2027 State Action Plan for the Care Network for People with Disabilities); and distribution of the material to inpatients and their families at the João Paulo II Hospital and Emergency Center and the *Assistência Médica Intensiva* (AMI) unit, using a convenience sampling method accompanied by verbal guidance. Results: A 12-page booklet was produced, covering PICS, the organization of the care network in Rondônia, accredited centers by health region (addressing physical, auditory, intellectual, and visual impairments), the Orthopedic Workshop, and home care guidelines. Sixty individuals were approached and received both verbal guidance and a printed copy (30 at each health facility). The material was published in the proceedings of the 2nd Scientific Showcase of the Rondônia State Department of Health, with its own DOI. Conclusion: The booklet proved to be a low-cost, easy-to-use tool for disseminating information about SUS (Unified Health System) rehabilitation services in Rondônia, helping to clarify access pathways within the network. Complementary audiovisual materials and future studies with a quantitative design are recommended to evaluate the material's impact on the actual pursuit of rehabilitation.
