Introduction: Early mobilization in the postoperative period of cardiovascular surgeries has proven to be an effective strategy to accelerate recovery and reduce complications. The role of physiotherapy in this context is essential to restore lung function, prevent functional losses, and shorten the length of hospital stay. In this regard, investigating the effects of these interventions is fundamental to improving clinical practice and patient rehabilitation. Objective: To describe the effects of physiotherapy on early mobilization of patients in the postoperative period of cardiovascular surgery, using an integrative literature review. Methods: A search was conducted in the following databases: Latin American and Caribbean Health Sciences Literature (LILACS), U.S. National Library of Medicine (PUBMED), Scientific Electronic Library Online (SCIELO), and Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online (MEDLINE), covering the period from 2021 to 2025, using the descriptors: "physiotherapy", "early mobilization", and "post-cardiac surgery". Results: Of the studies analyzed, only five were found in the PUBMED database, while articles from the other databases did not meet the inclusion criteria. The comprehensive analysis indicated that physiotherapy interventions such as early mobilization, in-bed cycling, and inspiratory muscle training contribute to functional recovery, reduction of complications, and shorter hospital stays. Conclusion: Intensified approaches help improve pulmonary and autonomic function, thereby promoting rehabilitation. However, there is a lack of current research addressing this crucial topic, indicating the need for further studies to fill this gap.
