Abstract

Introduction: The climacteric is a transitional phase in a woman’s life, marked by hormonal changes that can trigger physical and emotional symptoms, such as insomnia, hot flashes, and irritability. This article presents a case study of a climacteric patient who used phytotherapy as a complementary method for symptom management. Objective: To analyze the clinical progression of the patient over 30 days of treatment with herbal medicines. Methods: The study aimed to assess physiological responses at 7, 15, and 30 days, using an infusion of Morus nigra (black mulberry) extract, 2 g, twice daily, and an infusion of Matricaria chamomilla (chamomile) tea, one 200ml cup before bedtime. Results: The findings indicated gradual and significant improvement in symptoms, especially in sleep quality and reduction of hot flashes. Conclusion: In this case report, the use of phytotherapy was associated with an improvement in climacteric symptoms. However, as this is an individual experience, its efficacy cannot be confirmed. Clinical trials are necessary to validate these findings.
