Outlining the adherence of pregnant adolescents to the prenatal program in Campo Grande/MS

Introduction: Identify problems and difficulties in the adherence of pregnant teenagers in Campo Grande to the prenatal program. Objective: To analyze the conditions of adherence to the prenatal program for young people in the city of Campo Grande, Mato Grosso do Sul. Methods: This is a cross-sectional research that used secondary data collected from the Live Birth Monitoring Panel and the System of Health Information for Primary Care (SISAB), both made available by the Ministry of Health. Furthermore, the number of prenatal consultations was identified, in order to consider pregnant women, in Campo Grande/MS, up to the age of 19 years, compared to similar data obtained in various locations across the country. Results: They were described in tables and interpreted, through descriptive analysis. It was observed that pregnant women undergo prenatal care as recommended by ministerial protocols of at least 6 consultations and rapid tests, at least once during pregnancy. It was demonstrated that education did not affect the number of consultations, nor in the tests, as the total number of consultations was related to the quarter in which prenatal care began. Conclusion: It is inferred that public policies aimed at providing prenatal care in the city of Campo Grande achieve the purpose proposed by the Ministry of Health.
